- Father Anthony Mattes Award
In
April 1991, the PJOA instituted the Father Mattes Award which is to be
presented annually. Father Anthony Mattes was the chaplain for the PJOA
and Aston Township P.O.. The first award was made posthumously to Father
Mattes and presented to his family. The Purpose of this award is to
recognize and honor a member of the PJOA with good moral character and
an active participant with commitment to the PJOA.
Representative of the ideals and characteristics of Father Mattes, such
as honesty, loyalty, dedication and commitment to making the juvenile
justice system better for all.
Founders Award
This award is based on the original principals of our founding members
regarding cooperation, education and improvement of the juvenile justice
system. The award is to a non-law enforcement person who embodies the
cooperation and brotherhood between members of the juvenile justice
system.
Ralph Galdi Award
- Juvenile Officer of the Year Award
In
1983, the PJOA instituted the Juvenile Officer of the Year Award.
The purpose of the award is to honor/recognize a member of the PJOA for
their outstanding performance as a juvenile officer and their unselfish
commitment to their community. In
1986 this award was officially named the Ralph Galdi award in honor of
one of our members.
