Sergeant Galdi was shot and killed during a foot pursuit of a suspect. During the pursuit the man turned around and opened fire, fatally wounding Sergeant Galdi.

Sergeant Galdi was assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit and an active member of the PJOA.
